Dear My Cat is a cute relaxing game available on the Google Play and Apple app store. If you love cats or anything cute, I recommend playing this adorable, beautiful game. The game was released last month on September 29, 2020. I started playing about a week ago after I saw an ad for it on Instagram. My first look at the game reminded me of the Tap Tap Fish aquarium game that I saw many ads about. For this game, it seems like you play to collect cats and watch them walk around and do stuff.

The game recommends you to wear headphones while playing. I admit the music of the game is very relaxing and ethereal. The goal of the game is to expand your sky island and invite more cats/animals via the train station. In order to do these things, you will need to build structures that will be the source of your income. You would also need to collect hearts from your cats to upgrade your island and structures. The cats and animals that visit your island have adorable designs and descriptions of their character. If you have a particular cat that you love, you can gift them things to increase your friendship with them. Personally, I’m a sucker for big fat white cats. I give them lots of fish as gifts so I can make them wear a top hat. At each friendship level, you have the ability to dress them up with accessories and clothes. As your island develops, you can appreciate the scenery and the cute interactions of your cats.

I am unsure of the story behind how the cat sky island came to be. The train that you unlock at the beginning of the game allows you to invite cats to go to your island. I have a hunch that the train actually helps cats go to heaven, which is the island that you are developing. It is my interesting theory about the game, which makes me sad but go “aw” at the same time.

After playing for a while, I find that Dear My Cat is an idle simulator game because it doesn’t require much effort or grind to progress through the game. I would occasionally pop in the game and play for around 10 minutes throughout the day. It is not a game that I would stress to spend hours on. It definitely relaxes me whenever I hop on. This game is a nice thing to do if you’re bored. I would rate this game 3 stars out of 5. The loveable cats and outfits make the game enjoyable. However, I did find myself losing motivation to log in every day. I recommend this game if you need something to play for a short time.
